Hails and Farewells
We bid a fond farewell to Alayla and welcome Katelyn and Brendisha to the family.
Mara's Memos
We will be focusing on reading this month. We will have a classroom reading competition to make it all the more fun! For every new book that is read in their class, the teacher will add a link to their paper caterpillar. The two classrooms with the longest caterpillar at noon on October 28th will win a prize for their classroom. Books already in their classroom can’t be counted for this contest, so we are relying on you to help your child’s room! Please bring in age appropriate books from home or the library to share each day. (Make sure every book is labeled with your child's name.) You or a grandparent can also make arrangements to come read to the class.
To culminate this reading frenzy, we will have Storybook Character Day on October 29th. Your child may dress up as a character from their favorite book. Make sure they bring the book with them on the 28th, as we will spend the day reading everyone’s favorite books and encouraging the children to act out the parts while they are in costumes.
We are NOT celebrating Halloween, no scary costumes, witches, ghosts, vampires, etc will be allowed. We will devote the day to reading, crafts, games, and activities that relate to the books we are reading. It will be a fun filled day of celebrating our love of books with one another.
